Fall Classes for Adults

Beginning Ceramics – Handbuilding

Come spend a morning at Art House 7 learning a new skill. In this class you will make a platter and a vase using hand building techniques. This is not a wheel-throwing class. Materials and firing included in the tuition. Maximum 6 students.

Beginning Oil Painting

The class will cover the basics of oil painting – starting a painting, brushes, mediums, composition, perspective and color theory. Students choose their subject matter either from still-life set-ups or photographs. Demonstrations will be given throughout the semester on techniques pertaining to landscapes, still lifes, portraits and figures. Materials list will be provided. Class can be repeated.

  • Mondays, Nov. 13 – Dec. 18 (6 weeks) 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. $325 (2-hour class); early-bird price: $300 (expires Oct. 30); maximum 6 students. Register here.

Open Studio for Adults

Studio will be open to come work on your own independent projects. Student supply their own materials. Students responsible for setting up and cleaning up after themselves. Please clean oil paint brushes at home. There will be a studio monitor but no instruction.

  • Fridays, 10 am – noon, Sept. 22 – Dec. 15 (11 weeks), no open studios on 10/27, 11/10, 11/24. $250, drop-in option: $25/day. To register for a drop-in, student must email 1 week prior – anne@arthouseseven.com. Please bring check payable to Art House 7. Maximum 8 students. Register here.

Watercolor for Beginning to Advanced With Jane Coonce

The class will help beginners feel confident to start and complete a painting. More experienced painters will perfect their skills. Demonstrations will be given throughout the semester on techniques pertaining to landscapes, still lifes, portraits and figures. Students can work from still life setups or from photographs. Materials list will be provided.
