Beginning Oil Painting for Adults – Tuesdays 10-11:30am, $185/8 wks, starts 1/10/17, max. 6 students
The class will cover the basics of oil painting. Students will learn about color mixing, brushes,mediums, composition and how to start and finish a painting. Students can work from still life set ups or from photographs. A supply list will be given upon registration. Instructor: Anne Browne

Ceramics, $180/6 wks, starts 1/13/17, max. 10 students
Fridays, 3:15-4:15p-11-14 yrs, Register for 11-14 years
Fridays, 4:30-5:30p – 8-12 yrs, Register for 8-12 years
Using coils and slabs, students will make a several clay projects. Assignments will be geared to students’ interests. Some of this year’s projects include working clocks, face jugs, Japanese tea lanterns and tree houses. Materials included in tuition.

Drawing – Wednesdays, $180/6 weeks, $180/6 wks, start 1/11/17, max 8 students

Wed, 4:15-5:15p 8-12 yrs, Register for 8-12 years

Wed, 5:30-6:30p, 11-14 yrs, Register for 11-14 years

Students will draw from life and photographs. The subject matter will include a variety of still-life set-ups, figure drawings, animals and subject matter that the students choose, They will have the opportunity to try out a variety of media—pencil, charcoal, pastel and ink. We will discuss line, shading, composition and perspective. Materials included in tuition.

Experimental Painting for Adults – Thursdays, 7-8:30p, $210/6 wks, starts 1/12/17, max 10 students

Explore a variety of painting techniques including palette knife, pouring and drips, image transfer, pattern making, gesso scraffito, resist, thick (impasto) versus thin (glazing), taping, blotting, etc. Then create a contemporary painting incorporating these techniques. Acrylic and oil paint. No experience necessary. A material list will be provided for oil painting supplies the first day of class, all other supplies are included in tuition.
