Below is our class schedule for adults for Fall Session 1. The schedule for Session 2 will be posted before October 1.
Beginning Oil Painting
The class will cover the basics of oil painting – starting a painting, brushes, mediums, composition, perspective and color theory. Students choose their subject matter either from still-life set-ups or photographs. Demonstrations will be given throughout the semester on techniques pertaining to landscapes, still lifes, portraits and figures. Materials list will be provided. Class can be repeated.

Oil Painting for Intermediate/Advanced
This class is designed for students with a basic knowledge of the fundamentals of oil painting. Beginners learn the fundamentals including color, composition, form, and materials. Intermediate students hone existing skills and explore new challenges. Advanced students work with painting theory and focus on completing professional-quality work. We will be working from still life arrangements or the student’s personal projects and photos. Individual classroom attention and demos are provided for each class. Portrait and figure painters are welcome. Students need their own supplies for this class.

Open Studio for Adults
Studio will be open to come work on your own independent projects. Student supply their own materials. Students responsible for setting up and cleaning up after themselves. Please clean oil paint brushes at home. There will be a studio monitor but no instruction.
- Session 1: Fridays, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 9/22-12/15, 11 weeks, no open studios on 10/27, 11/10, 11/24. $250, early bird price $220 (expires 9/8), drop-in option: $25/day. Watercolor for Beginning to Advanced With Jane Coonce
The class will help beginners feel confident to start and complete a painting. More experienced painters will perfect their skills. Demonstrations will be given throughout the semester on techniques pertaining to landscapes, still lifes, portraits and figures. Students can work from still life set ups or from photographs. Materials list will be provided.
